picture, if you will...

...your day. You're lucky to be alive, you feel well. Sleep was wonderfully energizing and the coffee smells great. You shower and dress and with a spring in your step you're off to work! Work. What a beautiful place. You're surrounded by great teammates and the buzz of sound in the office is almost hypnotizing. You sit down and get ready to speak to a lot of people today. Incidentally, not a single one of them will be giving you good news nor will they be particularly happy to talk to you. Isn't it great to work in a customer service call-centre?
Let's skip to the end of the day: you've spoken to over 60 people today and helped them all to the best of your ability. You've not always succeeded but you've tried. You marvel at how difficult it must be for them to navigate the 2 options over the telephone menu in order to get you. And for them to be pleasant? Hah! Why would they? You're only a person, not deserving of basic respect or manners.
Well, THPPPPT to you!

Road losers

Welcome to the new road dumbasses of the week. This one's good - buddy's doing 50+ over the limit, gets caught, his girlfriend's car gets towed and this is his exact quote: "I have three kids, I have to go to work for a week and they just do not give a crap. They have no sympathy for people and it's unfair and they treat people like crap." This idiot is a nurse, who's obviously never seen a car collision victim, because he doesn't know that going 50 over the limit puts absolutely everybody else on the road in danger. Oh, and he was driving a SUV. So Jason, go get your head examined, quit your day-job and shut the hell up.
Next woman in line, same officer, same stretch of highway: caught doing 55 over, kid in the car too. Officer's line: "A little indication (is) if you're going down the highway and you're passing everybody...hello, chances are you're speeding," Mahoney-Bruer said (...)"

yeesh.

Fliggitty-boopla

Oh job, how I loathe thee - let me count the ways...

on a lighter note, for the very first time in my life (and really - the last) I actually enjoyed fusion cuisine in a restaurant last night. Ok, so if I really wanted to, I could review the whole place and give everyone a better understanding of the pros and cons, but I'll just say for the moment that it was good, I'd go back when the menu changes next and I hope they continue to do well. Hah! Place is called Tomi-Kro. Check it out.

Moving from Livejournal to here... I've decided. So there.
